Carve is a firm I’ll have to keep an eye on. They have some extremely playful ideas. They also appear to have a very formal approach to design. Given the Zorlu playground’s luxury shopping mall setting, its style makes sense as does its guaranteed-to-be-exorbitant cost of construction and maintenance. No doubt, this playground is well-integrated with its context, which is a major design strength. What I love about the Zorlu playground, more than the playground itself, is that someone obviously cared enough about play to have something as grand as this designed and built! Continue investing in play – it’s worth it!
As for Carve, you can check out their website here. They have many exciting playgrounds to browse, ranging from fully natural to high urban design. Maybe there’s even one near you.
